Getting started
How do I set up my gift shop?
Follow the setup checklist that stays on screen across your dashboard until your shop is live. It lists each step left, links straight to it and checks itself off when you finish. Pick your shop name and web address in Settings.
Is it free to build my shop?
Yes. You can build and preview everything for free. You pay a one-time publishing fee when you're ready to open your shop to buyers.
Can I see my shop before it goes live?
Yes. Your shop shows a Live preview while you edit your branding. Once you publish, use Open shop in Your shop to see the real page.
Payments and Stripe
How do I get paid?
Connect your Stripe account in Settings. Every gift card payment goes straight into your Stripe account, and Stripe pays out to your bank on its normal schedule. So Gifted works with US businesses at launch.
Does So Gifted take a cut of my sales?
So Gifted takes no fee on your gift card sales. Stripe charges its standard processing fee on each payment.
Stripe says my account needs more information. What do I do?
Open Settings and click Continue Stripe setup in the Stripe Connect section. Stripe will show exactly what it still needs.
Where do replies to gift emails go?
Replies go to the Support email you save in Settings. It also shows on receipts. If you leave it empty, replies come to So Gifted support.
Branding your shop
How do I add my logo, colors and fonts?
Open Your shop to upload your logo or cover image, choose colors and fonts, and write your shop text. Click Save brand to apply your changes. Your logo and colors appear on your shop page, gift pages and emails. When you upload an SVG logo, So Gifted also makes a PNG copy so your logo shows in emails. Your selected fonts appear in your shop and on gift pages.
Can I use my own fonts?
Yes. In Your shop under Fonts, enter the Font name, tick the box confirming you have the license to use the font on the web, and upload the Font file. Choose the uploaded font under Headings or Body and click Save brand.
Where do I add my refund policy?
Open Your shop and find Your gift refund policy (optional) under Shop page text. It shows on your shop page and in receipts. If you leave it empty, buyers are told to contact you.
Creating gifts
What's the difference between a specific item and a custom amount?
A specific item covers one thing you offer at a set price, such as a reading or a membership. Your client uses the whole gift at once. A custom amount lets you set a fixed value or let the buyer choose an amount within your limits. Your client can spend it across more than one purchase, and the balance carries over. On another platform (Acuity, Kajabi and more) is available for specific items.
What kinds of gifts can I sell?
You can sell a gift with a set price, like a reading, a coaching call, a class or a month of membership, or let buyers choose any amount between a minimum and maximum you set. It can be anything you offer.
How do I design the gift card?
Open Card designs and click Edit on a design, or Design your gift card to start a new one. When you add a gift, step 2, Design the card, lets you pick the design. You can change colors, text, shape and images, and decide which colors buyers can use if they customize it. If you have no designs yet, we make a starter design from your logo and colors when you add your first gift. Each design in Card designs has Preview as buyer and Duplicate buttons.
Can buyers customize the card?
Yes. When a gift has a design, buyers click Customize this gift on step 2 of checkout, Make it personal, and personalize the parts you allow using the colors you approve.
What do the labels on my gifts mean?
Live means the gift is in your shop and selling. Draft means it is not finished yet, so buyers cannot see it. Hidden means it is finished and you chose to hide it. Needs codes means it is waiting for its first codes to be added and confirmed. Back soon means it is out of codes, so buyers can see it but cannot buy it until you add more.
How buyers send gifts
How does the gift reach the recipient?
On step 3, Send it, buyers choose to have us email the gift or to share a private gift link themselves. They can share the link in a message or print it.
Can a buyer schedule the gift for a later date?
Yes. When emailing the gift, buyers can pick a send date, like a birthday morning.
My buyer says the recipient never got the email. What should they check?
Ask them to check the recipient's spam or promotions folder first. If it's still missing, email hello@sogifted.co with the buyer's name and date of purchase.
Can buyers add a GIF, photo or voice note?
Yes. On step 2, Make it personal, buyers can add a GIF or sticker, plus photos, voice notes or videos.
Redeeming gifts
Where do I set up redemption for my checkout?
Open Gifts and click Add a gift. On step 3, under How will your client use it?, choose a way and follow its setup steps. New gifts start with the same choice as your last gift when it suits the gift kind. Changes apply to future purchases. Gifts already sold keep their original instructions.
Where can my clients spend their gift?
Each gift can be used at your place in person, on your Stripe payment link, on another platform with codes, or by contacting you. For Stripe payment links, pick On my Stripe payment link on step 3 of Add a gift. Your client's gift is applied at checkout automatically. For platforms such as Acuity or Kajabi, pick On another platform (Acuity, Kajabi and more) for gifts for a specific item.
Follow these setup steps.
1. Choose a Stripe payment link for the item this gift covers. A link you already use works. If you're new to payment links, create one in your Stripe Dashboard under Payment Links.
2. Turn on promotion codes for that link. Paste the link on step 3 of Add a gift. We check it when you save and can turn promotion codes on for you.
How do codes from my own platform work?
On step 3 of Add a gift, choose On another platform (Acuity, Kajabi and more) for a gift for a specific item. Each sale hands out the next single-use code from your stack, along with the link where your client uses it. You can paste codes you made in your platform, or let So Gifted make a batch for you to add to your coupon and then confirm. The gift stays a Draft until its codes are added and confirmed. You can manage every stack later from the Gift codes tab. If your platform lets one coupon be used many times with a usage limit, like GoHighLevel, choose One code for every gift instead. Every recipient gets the same code, and you set how many gifts can sell with it to match the usage limit on your platform.
How do Acuity gift codes work?
Pick Acuity Scheduling as the platform. Your client's Use my gift button opens your Acuity scheduler with the code already applied.
Follow these setup steps.
1. In Acuity, create a coupon that takes 100% off the item (Acuity calls it an appointment type) and can be used once.
2. Paste that item's Acuity link into Link where your client uses the code on step 3 of Add a gift. Paste the coupon codes you made, or generate codes here and add them to your coupon using Enter multiple coupon codes, then confirm.
How do I redeem a gift when a client uses it?
Open Orders and click Redeem a gift. Tap Scan QR or type the gift code and tap Look up, enter the amount used, and tap Redeem. The remaining balance stays on the gift.
Can my team redeem gifts?
Yes. In Settings under Team, enter their email and click Create invite, then send them the invite link. They can use the redemption screen without access to your payments or settings.
Do gift cards expire?
Gift cards sold through So Gifted never expire and carry no fees.
How do I know when my codes are running low?
Each gift has a warning level you choose: 5, 10, 25 or 50 codes left. When a stack reaches it, we email you, show a banner and a pop-up on your dashboard, and add a badge to Gift codes. Reminder emails repeat every 3 days, up to 3 times. If a stack runs out, the gift shows Back soon in your shop until you add more codes.
Does my platform work with gift codes?
Your platform needs to make a single-use coupon that takes 100% off the exact item. Some platforms and products can't do this, like subscriptions that renew each month. A coupon with a total usage limit, one use per customer and a limit to this product works too, with One code for every gift. If yours can't do either, choose On my Stripe payment link or They contact me to use it.
What does the Gift codes tab show?
It lists every gift that uses codes from another platform, with codes left, codes handed out and its warning level. Open Codes given out to see who received each code, and mark a gift redeemed once your client has used it.
Adding the shop to your website
Can I put my gift shop on my own website?
Yes. Share your shop link anywhere, or open Your shop and copy the code under Embed on your website.
Refunds and your account
How do I refund a gift card?
Open Orders, find the order under Recent orders and click Refund. You can refund up to the gift's unspent balance, and the money goes back through your Stripe account. If the gift used a code from your own platform, remove that code from your coupon there. The Gift codes tab marks it as Refunded so you know which one.
Can I get a refund on the publishing fee?
You can request a refund on the one-time publishing fee if your shop has not sold a gift and your request meets the refund policy. Email hello@sogifted.co from your account email.
How do I close my shop?
To stop new sales, click Unpublish in Your shop. To remove your account, go to Settings and use Delete account. If your shop has paid orders or gifts with a remaining balance, account deletion is blocked. You can use Close my shop to stop new sales, and you still need to honor gifts with a remaining balance.
